Perks of Reading Detective Stories | Hollie Tutrani
There is something about reading detective stories
that keep the readers engaged till the end of the story. A story so
captivating and thrilling that does not make the readers lose their pace of
reading, is a sign of a good book.
We grew up reading the detective stories of Alfred
Hitchcock, Carolyn Keene, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, etc. all of which presented
powerful mystery thrillers that we still remember enjoying reading them. Today
we find new authors coming up with great mystery and detective stories, who
seem to be following in the footsteps of great mystery authors in the past. Hollie Tutrani’s novel “Her Brother’s Keeper”, is such an example. Her novel
revolves around love, relationships, greed, lust, and justice, blended together
with immense twists and turns which makes the story more interesting and hard
to predict.
Detective Stories not only grabs the attention of
young minds and teenagers but adults too. It’s good to transfer ourselves from
our tiresome routine and imagine the lives of people living an entirely
different lifestyle than ours. It’s like stepping into a completely different
world and be able to experience the emotions, sentiments, perspectives, with a
different viewpoint. The curiosity of knowing the real perpetrator by following
the labyrinth of unprecedented happenings, makes our brain cells function
sharply, and as a reader, we’re able to develop good analytical skills and
enhances our own detective abilities.
The advantages of reading do not stop here. One’s literature, grammar, and vocabulary are also increased. Reading is a great hobby to have. People should be encouraged to read more often; whatever genre they enjoy most.
