3 Things You Learn from Disability | Motivational Blog | Christopher M. Andrews | 2021

Everyone one of us is faced with some kind of threat, challenge, struggle, or defeat. For a while, one cannot cope with it. But as we grow mature we realize we can fight these problems. This realization period is different for each person. Some realize it at the initial step and some even don't realize this forever. People who take problems as challenges are the real heroes and sources of inspiration. One of these people who are sources of intelligence and inspiration are people with disabilities.   Whether it's a mental disability or they are facing physical challenges. Whether it's by birth or by a sudden accident. It doesn't matter. Such people have the potential to learn from their own experiences while others have the chance to learn from them. Below are 3 Things you can learn having a disability:

1. Patience

Patience is the ultimate thing you learn as a disabled person. Being disabled may bound you from many venues.  You may find yourself not being able to do many things.  But you may found your own way to do it, maybe late, but you will surely induce patience in your personality. Hence, in this way, you become prepared for anything that life throws on your face.

2. Positive Attitude

By passers stare at you, and some unworthy people may also badmouth you or humiliate you for how you look or think. But disabled people see themselves beyond their impairments. They boost an attitude that bold and positive. Despite all odds, you learn to try your best to live life to the fullest. This positive attitude is what makes them inspiring to people around them.

3. Being Yourself

Being disabled you don't surrender upon difficulties. You learn to flaunt for whatever you are. You learn disability is not a negative thing. In the process of becoming a better person, you discover your other potentials like a good sense of humor and a nice empathetic heart. What else do you need?

Many people share their journey to inspire not only people who are like them but also people who fail to fight and raise again even with the slightest of difficulties. One such amazing person is Christopher M. Andres. Christopher M. Andrews shares his story in his book named 'Run Don't Walk'. The book is an amazing memoir of Andrews’s own life and how an event completely changed his life and his way of thinking. Being a quadriplegic he has learned to have no excuses for doing something purposeful or something he always wanted to do. The book is a must-read for people who are seeking to learn the truth of life and fight with the odds with a positive attitude.
